Police State? Remember "The Running Man"?

It is interesting to me with all of these reality shows. The ones that impress me most are shows like "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted" where we get brownie points for helping the police catch these dangerous criminals. It's nice as a citizen to participate in our patriotic duty right?

Except?

Except that there are many problems with this. The most obvious of course is how many of these people are actually criminals? I do not have any doubt that most, or even more likely all of them are right now. But later on? As our rights become less and less apparent and less and less important? What about then?

Police have no civic duty to protect citizens any more. In fact they are encouraged against it by the law! Huh? How is that? Well, you see in a little advertised technicality, we do not have peace officers anymore like we used to. We now have law enforcement agents who are allowed to interpret the law at the "scene" and then must enforce and protect the Law without regard for the humanity involved.

I know there are still good cops out there but ask any of them if their job is the same now as it was twenty or even ten years ago. Things are always changing and many good people are caught up in the struggle, not just We The People.

Like so many powers which are given to the federal government in the name of safety or social welfare programs. Do you really think the government will relinquish that power willingly? Unfortunately, like taxes, government never met a power it did not like either.

When traffic cameras came out for anyone who cares to look it up or who remembers, they were only going to be used for monitoring traffic remember? They were never going to be used in any way to convict anyone or even as evidentiary materials but only to monitor traffic.

Like so many more things, Social Security, Anti this and that campaigns, our rights are eroded a little bit at a time until suddenly we wake up one day wondering where the few remaining rights went. Redistribution of wealth has been happening so long that We The People actively encourage big government to participate in it. The rights of private property owners used to be subject to scrutiny only in the public interest.

Remember that once again, it all crept up slowly until it was too late for We The People. Now private property can be taken from one private citizen and freely (and illegally) redistributed to another private citizen without regard for the private property owner.

What is the logical conclusion to all of these shows? Remember the movie "Running Man" with Arnold and of all people ... Richard Dawson as an entirely believable bad guy? How many people are going to worry about "a common criminal" that they have never met and do not know? After all, if the government or especially television tells us that this is a dangerous criminal it has to be true right? Everything we see on tv and everything that the government tells us is true right?

'Remember Cadre Members, double points for turning in a family member today!"
Is it really so difficult to see that coming? What stage will it be at before you wake up America?

WorldNetDaily: Bishop urges Christians to call God 'Allah'

WorldNetDaily: Bishop urges Christians to call God 'Allah'

Catholic churches in the Netherlands should use the name Allah for God to ease tensions between Muslims and Christians, says a Dutch bishop.

Tiny Muskens, the bishop of Breda, told the Dutch TV program "Network" Monday night he believes God doesn't mind what he is called, Radio Netherlands Worldwide reported.

The Almighty is above such "discussion and bickering," he insisted.

Muskens points to Indonesia, where he served 30 years ago, as an example for Dutch churches. Christians in the Middle East also use the term Allah for God.

"Someone like me has prayed to Allah yang maha kuasa (Almighty God) for eight years in Indonesia and other priests for 20 or 30 years," Muskens said. "In the heart of the Eucharist, God is called Allah over there, so why can't we start doing that together?"

Muskens thinks it could take another 100 years, but eventually the name Allah will be used by Dutch churches, promoting rapprochement between the two religions, he said, according to Radio Netherlands.

However, a survey published today in the Netherlands' largest newspaper, De Telegraaf, showed 92 percent of the more than 4,000 people polled oppose the bishop's view, the Associated Press reported.

(Story continues below)

Some letters to the paper were filled with ridicule for the bishop.

"Sure. Lets call God Allah. Lets then call a church a mosque and pray five times a day. Ramadan sounds like fun," wrote Welmoet Koppenhol.

The chairman of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands, Gerrit de Fijter, told the Dutch paper he welcomed any attempt to "create more dialogue," according to the AP. But he said, "Calling God 'Allah' does no justice to Western identity. I see no benefit in it."

A Muslim spokesman, for Amsterdam's union of Moroccan mosques, said Muslims had not asked for such a gesture from Christians, the AP reported.

Tensions with the Netherlands' 1-million-strong Muslim community have been high since the 2004 murder of filmmaker Theo Van Gogh by a Muslim avenging a film critical of Islam.

Last week, politician Geert Wilders talked about banning the Quran, shortly after the head of a group of former Muslims, Ehsan Jami, compared Islam's prophet Muhammad with al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

Muskens made similar remarks several year ago about using the name of Allah, Radio Netherlands reported. He also suggested replacing the national Christian holiday Whit Monday – celebrated the day after Pentecost – with an Islamic religious day.

The bishop also has offended Muslims, saying in 2005 Islam was a religion without a future because it has too many violent aspects.

IMHO Christ's teachings in Matthew tell us never to repeat our prayers over and over and also teaches us that "The Name" of the Lord is blessed or hallowed. As for me personally, I do not use Allah because it is not in the teachings I have read. Those mostly use YHWH which is the ancient Hebrew. I do not use Jehovah as it was actually a combination of two forms of the word written first by the Masoretes (Scribes) somewhere around the 12th century. As for me, I do indeed think it was probably pronounced either Yahweh or Jahveh depending on which pronunciation was used back then. The only sure sign I have is from Psalm 115 to 118 I think they are which are known as the "Hall El" Psalms where it teaches us Hallelujah or "Praise Jah all you people." Therefore for me, I will always address him as "Jah" in my prayers.

Interesting that because of the "crime" of one person that an entire industry was purged. Gotta love that Sharia Law, much better than having that oppressive Christian religion running things huh?

Biker fails to notice missing leg | U.S. | Reuters: "TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese biker failed to notice his leg had been severed below the knee when he hit a safety barrier, and rode on for more than a mile, leaving a friend to pick up the missing limb. The 54-year-old office worker was out on his motorcycle with a group of friends in the city of Hamamatsu, west of Tokyo, on Monday, when he was unable to negotiate a curve in the road and bumped into the central barrier, the Mainichi Shimbun said. He felt excruciating pain, but did not notice that his right leg was missing until he stopped at the next junction, the paper quoted local police as saying. The man and his leg were taken to a hospital, but the limb had been crushed in the collision, the paper said."

Uhhhhhhhh, I don't think that is allowed to be taught in history class anymore is it?

Political Radar: Elizabeth Edwards Unplugged

Would this be the kind of vision that allows someone to speak to dead children from a courtroom? Maybe the kind of vision that allowed her husband to justify raising costs for the average American who lives in the "Other America" without being able to fly their hairdresser all the way across the country for a four hundred dollar hair cut PLUS 1200 dollars in travel costs? Just what kind of vision does she really think he has? Maybe he has the vision to see that not eating tangerines will cure global warming? Ummmmm, Back to Gump, Forrest Gump school of charm.

Local News | Ore. woman loses her $1 million jackpot | Seattle Times Newspaper

MEDFORD, Ore. — A judge ruled that a woman who used a stolen credit card to buy a winning scratch-it ticket has no right to the $1 million prize.

Jackson County Judge Ray White ruled Thursday that the winnings were the proceeds of illegal activity and must be forfeited under Oregon law.

Prosecutors say Christina Goodenow of White City used a credit card that belonged to her then-boyfriend's dead mother to buy the lucky lottery ticket at a market in Central Point in October 2005.

Goodenow asked lottery officials to keep her win quiet, claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. But police learned of the crime about two weeks later as Goodenow continued to use the stolen credit card.

The Oregon Lottery had already paid Goodenow $33,500, the first of 20 annual payouts. She spent the majority of the money, including a big chunk that went to pay off nearly $12,000 owed on the credit card.

Goodenow, who pleaded no contest to forgery, cheating and aggravated theft, maintains she bought the winning ticket with cash from her own pocket. Goodenow said she plans to appeal.

Besides stripping Goodenow of her winnings, the judge sentenced Goodenow to a month in jail. But White gave her credit for the six months she served earlier this year for possessing methamphetamine.

Goodenow must spend two years on probation.

Poetic Justice? Sucks to be you but then again, if she paid cash, why does the charge appear on a credit card receipt? Makes a thinking person wonder.

Political Passion

Even though I probably have less readers here than the five I have on my space and the one I have on live journal, I just loved this so much I had to post it here as well. -WT-

Why is it that so many people get so passionate about politics that they quickly lose all sense of logic and reason and revert to name-calling and emotional diatribe instead of actually trying to define their differences, converse in the form of an actual debate and resolve issues? This is really going to upset some people but the answer, while very obvious, will be announced at the end of this post.

I am a prolific writer. I moved to the Philippines mainly for two reasons. The first reason was so that I could afford to quit my job and write full-time. Sometimes I get paid for it but most of the time I do not. The second reason was in order for me to have an opportunity to become politically apathetic. Unfortunately, my writing is doing much better than my apathy.

The fact of the matter is that politics are about parties and power. From there it quickly degrades into a schism that rapidly breaks apart, swallowing entire hordes of devout followers who blindly believe that if they toe their party line, they will be saved somehow.

Standing outside of all this mess are the PACs or Political Action Committees, the SIGs or Special Interest Groups and then the omnipresent Lobbyists. These well-funded organizations fuel and subsequently feed on the divisions and rifts created between the parties. These people buy and sell career politicians like so many commodities being traded on Wall Street.

I could give you many examples of this as well as an incredible amount of hypocrisy on the right and on the left but it would be an exercise in futility that only fueled the flames of party politics without offering any real solutions. One of the many things that strikes me as funny is that I am not blinded by political parties. I suppose that would make me a political wallflower of sorts but it is a somewhat accurate analogy. Still, those on the left frequently accuse me of being a fascist NeoCon lackey while those on the right frequently accuse me of being the proverbial wingnut.

Both sides are so locked up in their mindless, blindly driven faith in their own parties that they cannot see that anyone could possibly be in disagreement with both sides. I suffer from no delusions that either party will be my savior. Quite honestly, I would rather not be "saved" by either side given their actions and lack of any stoic moral or ethical values or character.

I believe that if enough people would look past their blinders and delve into the historical records that exist rather than listening to the dogmatic ramblings wherever they got their education, that they would see that the federal government as it now exists is questionable even in its legality. Its very existence is contrary and strictly prohibited by the US Constitution. Our forefathers went to great lengths to help us avoid getting to where we are now and even laid out a frightening, almost prophetic vision of the exact paths that we have taken as a nation.

Already, I can hear readers (If I had any at all) clicking away from this page and vowing never to return. I can hear how I am being told that it is good that an American-hating so and so like me already left (Insert your own threat here)

The fact of the matter is that I love America. I have served my time in her military, albeit to a limited extent. I do not claim that America is the cause for anyone's problems other than those which the American people have allowed to occur right inside the once proud USA.

If anyone has dared to venture this far into my rant; please, let me prove my point by asking a couple of simple questions. The answers that I have given can easily be found in the Federalist Papers where we were warned about this very path and given a means to avoid being where we are as a nation today.

Q) Is America/The USA a Democracy?

A) HELL NO! Great pains were taken by our forefathers to avoid this nation ever becoming a "democracy" and we were warned in no uncertain terms that the road to democracy leads to a certain and very painful death for us as a Nation. I Love the USA and would gladly stand up and fight for her were she still the nation our forefathers so valiantly began.

Q) Does the Constitution of the US guarantee rights to the citizens?

A) HELL NO! The Constitution was written for the expressed purpose of defining and limiting the powers of the federal government to prevent it from becoming the monstrosity it is today. The constitution was written as it was to prevent power being illegally usurped from state governments and centralized in Washington DC where it would become even more oppressive than the government we broke away from to begin with.

If you are still with me reading this here, whether you love me or hate me, please accept my thanks for reading my statements this far.

A lot of people will actually tell me I am wrong about those questions and answers when a quick review of the historical records show them both to be irrefutable facts. Those who do not know their history are doomed to repeat it.

The fact of the matter is that people are so passionate about politics because they follow it with blind faith that one wonders it does not have the capacity to allow God to experience envy. Should we follow the tenets of the Bible (Not the church, but that is another rant and another distinction many people have a difficult time understanding) with such blind faith and veracity, this world would actually be a beautiful place to live.

The fact of the matter is that we were originally a Constitutional Republic of United States ... the Of America simply indicated our geographical location and not a centralized, isolated and free-handed government that could freely oppress her own citizens and quiet them when they dissented.

Until her people are able to remove their blinders, pull themselves away from the political parties and the parties of politics and start looking at historical fact and figuring out fixes instead of b*tt-kissing a bunch of petty and selfish politicians, neither side will ever be able to save us and soon, the good ol' US of A will become a footnote somewhere next to ancient Rome or Greece.

Think I am overstating it? Go to your Congressman or Representative and remind them about "Of the people, by the people and for the people." While you are at it take a copy of the Constitution and the Federalist Papers with you and ask them to justify their jobs. Maybe you will even have more good fortune when you do it than when I did.

If anybody read this far. Truly, I thank you.

Private Label Rights

Okay, so you have seen all the sales and you have heard all the stories about private label rights and resale rights. However, you are not really sure exactly how it works. When the truth is known, you really do not know the difference or what advantages the private label rights really offer to you or what they really mean for your business.
Private Label Rights software is software that is sold, usually along with the source code included. You can insert all of your personal information into the source code and then you will have a custom and unique product which is labeled with your logo and your information and then can be sold as your own product.
While this may sound confusing to many people, it really is not. The open source code is the actual code that comprises the program. Information such as registration information, image files and logos are all contained within the source code. Replacing this information with your own and then compiling the code will provide you with a fully customized and personalized program which you can sell as if you are the sole creator and genius behind the product.
The benefits of doing business in this manner are numerous and all well worth looking at. First, the program is now your creation in every sense of the word. You now have a fully customized product which you can sell to your customers as something of your own. This will always give people a more positive impression of you, your skill and your internet marketing savvy.
What does that mean? That means that when you come out with something new or another program that you are actively promoting, that your name will already be recognized and trusted by everyone who is already using your program. It really is all about the lists in internet marketing and having your own programs will do more to increase your list faster than just about any other type of marketing known.
It also means that you can now sell this product with resale rights to other people on your list. While the bottom line may decrease a little if you already have a substantial list, there are other benefits to take into consideration as well. With a little bit of creativity, you can insert all of your contact information into the product and give everyone who purchases the software a direct link to your contact information.
There are also other ways of using these products to actually get contact information from other users of the program as well. So while you may lose a little money on the actual initial sales, you now have everybody who has purchased the product actively marketing you, your product and helping you to build your list.
If you are interested in making money over the long run and not just trying to earn a quick buck but actually making a living, than the Private Label Rights are a market you need to consider. Using the open source code to include or extract a little information will greatly enhance your visibility, your reputation and your overall income. If you want to make a good living, exploring the PLR option is something you will want to consider for your arsenal of money-making ventures.

KVOA News 4, Tucson, Arizona - Judge rules against Tucson charter schools

Ahhhhhh, I hate being right about this. Still, one of these days ... if this continues ... the last logical step will be forcing private schools, charter schools and even parents of home-schooled children to fully indoctrinate their students in whatever the current government indoctrination programs happen to include at the time.

In my advanced placement classes in public schools, we still did much less work at a lower level than most private schools taught to their "average" students. Now they wish to hold back the private schools to keep in line with the lower standards of an illegal federal system of schools?

KVOA News 4, Tucson, Arizona - It pays exactly $25 for Tucson kids to stay in school

Paid to Indoctrinate.

I stayed in school. Is this policy retroactive?

At least it is not federally funded by illegally gotten funds so I will not complain but still, it seems strange.

China threatens to trigger US dollar crash - Telegraph

I pointed out many years ago that this was a viable occurrence. Many of my friends and associates believed that since the USA was such a large consumer of goods and merchandise made in China, that this would never happen. However, China being a truly Socialist nation instead of a nation trying to push socialist values and expand the government into a position of complete and unfettered control over the economy and redistribution of wealth; China, as a nation is much more capable of absorbing the economic impact of such a move.

Somehow, "I told you so" just does not seem to be enough.

Why "Democracy" is Evil! Part One

From this view of the subject it may be concluded that a pure
democracy, by which I mean a society consisting of a small number of
citizens, who assemble and administer the government in person, can
admit of no cure for the mischiefs of faction. A common passion or
interest will, in almost every case, be felt by a majority of the
whole; a communication and concert result from the form of
government itself; and there is nothing to check the inducements to
sacrifice the weaker party or an obnoxious individual. Hence it is
that such democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and
contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal
security or the rights of property; and have in general been as
short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.
Theoretic politicians, who have patronized this species of
government, have erroneously supposed that by reducing mankind to a
perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same
time, be perfectly equalized and assimilated in their possessions,
their opinions, and their passions.
A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of
representation takes place, opens a different prospect, and promises
the cure for which we are seeking. Let us examine the points in
which it varies from pure democracy, and we shall comprehend both
the nature of the cure and the efficacy which it must derive from
the Union.
The two great points of difference between a democracy and a
republic are: first, the delegation of the government, in the
latter, to a small number of citizens elected by the rest;
secondly, the greater number of citizens, and greater sphere of
country, over which the latter may be extended.
The effect of the first difference is, on the one hand, to
refine and enlarge the public views, by passing them through the
medium of a chosen body of citizens, whose wisdom may best discern
the true interest of their country, and whose patriotism and love of
justice will be least likely to sacrifice it to temporary or partial
considerations. Under such a regulation, it may well happen that
the public voice, pronounced by the representatives of the people,
will be more consonant to the public good than if pronounced by the
people themselves, convened for the purpose. On the other hand, the
effect may be inverted. Men of factious tempers, of local
prejudices, or of sinister designs, may, by intrigue, by corruption,
or by other means, first obtain the suffrages, and then betray the
interests, of the people. The question resulting is, whether small
or extensive republics are more favorable to the election of proper
guardians of the public weal; and it is clearly decided in favor of
the latter by two obvious considerations:

Beauchamp Recants -- From The Weekly Standard

My blog is an Op-Ed thing for me. I simply give my opinion about what is happening and what it indicates to me about what is happening to my once great and proud nation. I mark it as my opinion and tell it as my opinion. I personally believe that I am (unfortunately) correct about most of the things I opine about but still, it remains mostly my opinion and even facts are interspersed with my opinions about their underlying meanings.

For anybody to spout off personal opinion as news is abhorrent and personally, I think one of the reasons that the MSM or Dead Tree Media is failing so quickly.

To attempt to pass off blatant lies or even "exaggeration" as news seems frivolous, stupid and self-defeating in a just world.

Unfortunately, the world we live in is neither fair nor just, much less reasoned by balance.

Still, for an editor or even a newspaper to stand behind such allegations as categorical fact after they have been "dis proven" in a statement sworn to under oath by the creator ... How can that editor make any justification for calling it news at all? If it is an opinion, it is not news. If it is fabricated then it is a lie. For an editor of all people to deny this is perhaps the greatest tragedy which has been revealed here.

It is understandable that many of my fellow countrymen (including the brave women in uniform as well) will hate this war and perhaps even loathe it. Many will see benefits and see change that others do not and feel in their hearts that they are doing the correct thing and following a just path. I am not here to give my (pointless) approval or denial to the war. My intention is to get people to read their Constitution and to question the legitimacy of a federal body that has proven over and over again that it disregards its citizens as well as the very constitution which it is sworn to uphold and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I do not see how anyone who is familiar with the Federalist Papers or the Constitution could see anything any differently than the words that are written there. They need no interpretation and have presented a valid and (frighteningly) accurate picture of what my nation would become when this happened ... and make no mistakes, it HAS happened. But I digress into my personal opinions again.

There are many venues for soldiers to vent their frustrations or to voice their support. To try and pass off opinion as news is just wrong. To blatantly lie in an attempt to deceive people and have them believe something is true when it is not, is dishonest and should be punished. For an editor to not only allow such rants, but to support them even after the author has recanted them ... I can never see any justification for that. To me as a writer, the complicity is what bothers me the most I think. Lying does not make me believe that someone is a professional, dependable, well-educated or in anyways anything more than a basic and simple liar.

Then again, this nutcracker also swore an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the USA against all enemies foreign and domestic as well. It does not look like his sworn oath's validity has any more merit in one arena than it does in another. Personally, if his brothers deny the accusations, there are more of them and they seem to be serving well, I would have to believe the person I am not sure about as opposed to someone I know has lied at least once and likely, if they will lie once, they will do so again. Those are the ways of a liar.

That is just my opinion though.

Bloggers Consider Forming Labor Union: Financial News - Yahoo! Finance

Well, personally I just do this as a way to vent my frustration with what is happening and what is not happening in the world today and with my once great and proud nation. Still, if anyone wants to make me carry a card for anyone, they gonna have to come get me and we are definitely gonna dance hillbilly style! When do we say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!"?

LABOR union?

Blogging should be a labor of love or at the very least a labor of passion!

"And that's all I have to say about that!"

The Blotter: Congress Serves Up 9/11 Bill with Pork Stuffing

I remember when I was growing up, I would hear the word "pork" and be reminded of dinner at Gramma's house with pork roast and sweet potatoes. Man, the whole house smelled so nice and it just made a kid feel good inside.

Now when I hear the word pork I think about an over-bloated federal entity redistributing my wealth in a manner that would make Mao Tse-Tung (Mao Zedung) proud.

One would think that a federal government that was violating the very Constitution that it is sworn to "Uphold and Defend against all enemies, foreign AND domestic." that it would tread a little more carefully. However, it would seem that the apparent ignorance and apathy of the American people have left these political party-people feeling both invulnerable and immune to having to answer for or be responsible for their actions. Illegal crimes are simply passed over and ignored because "everybody does it" which always worked great for the lemmings right?

Which amendment is it? I think another Fun History Quiz is in the making.

The Blotter: '08 Candidates' Disclosures Make Bush/Cheney Look Good

Where are McCain and Feingold when you need them?

Oh wait! I forgot, they only want to restrict the money from and voices of actual citizens, not of government, its agencies or its handlers.

The Blotter: FBI Proposes Building Network of U.S. Informants

Hmmmmmmm

The CIA and the NSA were prevented from sharing data to keep domestic affairs separated from foreign affairs more specifically to prevent them from ever becoming anything like the former KGB. Yet today's society lauds those willing to turn in their neighbors and friends.

People now praise the government for combining these agencies. TV shows like "Cops" and "America's Most Wanted" and social programs that encourage students to tell on their parents for illegal activities (Yeah, it has happened and if you want to question it, I can research it and get the links but I am just posting in response to this article here) encourage a paranoid and fearful society that is all too willing to turn in anybody that they see on tv who they suppose the people telling them are speaking truthfully.

I am not saying that they are already using programs like these in a manner such as this, only that it is a slippery slope and the power is now available for them to easily misuse and abuse as they see fit. The level of apathy among the general population as regards facts and the apparent complicity of the MSM have left all Americans more open and more vulnerable to self-destruction than to a destruction caused by any exterior forces.

American Informant Network? "Can you say 'AMERIKA' boys and girls? I thought you could!"

The Blotter: Report: Security Issues Plague DHS Facilities

I thought bloated government agencies were staffed by individuals who were absolute experts and infallible in their actions.

Oh wait, we needed this and new unions for the people we were already wrongfully blaming for falling down on the job after 9/11. This, even though they had done nothing wrong by their current standards at the time. Still, putting them on the payroll as government employees and putting them in government unions where it would be almost impossible to fire them, even those that spoke little English and in some instances were actually later discovered to be illegal aliens, all made them perfect employees and suddenly much better qualified than they had ever been before that?

You put a sign up on your home that says "No Guns Allowed" or "Gun Free Zone" and I will put up a sign on my house "Never mind the dog, beware of the owner!" or "I dial .357" with a picture of a handgun behind it and see who's home gets broken into.

I especially liked these little tidbits from the story:

"A presidentially-mandated deadline of July 2004 came and went without a comprehensive plan from DHS on how it would protect its own buildings, according to the report released yesterday by the Government Accountability Office (GAO)."

Mind you, this article was published THREE YEARS after the deadline but just a minor detail. No mention of whether or not this has been rectified in the three years following the deadline but if it is a story, I would imagine not.

"The agency told GAO auditors that it considers its efforts successful 'because it has no known breach in its headquarters and Transportation Security Operations Center.' It conceded it is difficult to demonstrate how many unauthorized attempts it has deterred "because it is typically not possible to know when such unauthorized attempts occur.'"

It considers its security to be successful since it DOES NOT KNOW about any breaches? I did not KNOW my windmill had been stolen from my property (Yeah it really is true) until I was able to get back out to my property and discovered that something was missing. That did not in any way prove that nothing had happened until I found out about it, only that I did NOT KNOW anything had happened. This is not very comforting and does not help me or anyone else to feel secure!

"Given the start-up of the department and the unique and demanding nature of its mission, it is no surprise that there have been challenges in facility management," said department spokesman William R. Knocke. "Come back a year from now and you’ll get even more recognition by the GAO and others that we’re moving quickly and intelligently in the right direction."

Um, a government agency moving quickly and intelligently? Pardon me while I go laugh. Okay, I realize that it only took three years for this report to come out so since that gives them two years past the time they said we would see them "giving more recognition."? Aside from the questionable legality of the current federal government as a whole, do I really care who they want to "recognize" for something being done or should I be able to find out that I actually am safer?

Here's an idea, start by securing the damn border like the federal government is supposed to and then work your way in deporting all the illegal aliens as you move inwards. One centralized (and redundant for protection) computerized database for any and all individuals who enter and exit the country and quick deportation when someone is found to have violated those laws. Did you know, it is actually possible for an illegal alien to avoid deportation proceedings in most cases simply by opening a bank account and getting a social security number? And yeah, the Social Security Administration (Another federal arm with questionable motives and legality) will actually give them social security numbers!

Quickly and Intelligently? Where?

My Way News - States Enter Void Left by Immigration Bill

This article leads to quite a few thoughts.

First, one of the very few well-defined powers of the federal government is the obligation to defend out nation's borders. This seems to be an idea which is openly scoffed at by politicians of both political parties. Too much partying and not enough politics again perhaps?

Second, what part of "illegal" equals being a racist? I suggest that the next time you get caught for any infraction or violation of the law that you justify it by saying that you were simply doing so in an attempt to better your life and the financial situation of you and/or your family.

Example: I am sorry your Honor. Yes Sir/Ma'am, I realize I was doing 93mph in a 45mph zone but please allow me to justify my illegal actions. You see, I was trying to get a job and I had too many interviews and needed to rush to get to them all. In my defense, I would like to say that obeying the laws of this State and this great Nation would have jeopardized my being able to improve my personal financial situation and been part and party to the oppression of my family and myself and only by circumventing your laws was I able to do what I needed to do for my family and for myself.

I bet it does not work! I do not know about you, but last time I took a copy of the Constitution to court with me they threw me in jail for contempt of court and charged me for it as well. My purported defender cost me over four thousand dollars and did not even know about relevant (Albeit illegal and unconstitutional) federal laws were in regards to the case that severely impacted my future.

Now substitute the circumstances of an ILLEGAL alien and tell me if the circumstances are actually any different?

Example: I am sorry your Honor. Yes Sir/Ma'am, I realize I was entering this nation illegally but please allow me to justify my actions. You see, I was trying to get a job and I could not get one in my country of origin. I would like to say that obeying the current immigration laws already in place in this great Nation would have jeopardized my being able to improve my personal financial situation and been part and party to the oppression of my family and myself and only by circumventing your laws was I able to do what I needed to do for my family and for myself.

Is it any different?

If an individual legally residing in the nation is penalized for breaking the law, how much more so should someone residing here while already proving a sense of disdain for our laws, be allowed any rights, any freedoms or any justification for breaking the law? What part of illegal is so hard to understand?

Third, at least some of the states are trying to do something about it. If more states got involved, maybe something would actually happen.

All of that leads me to wonder if the laws of secession have changed since the Civil War? California has spoken of it in the recent past. Maybe it would be something to at least make the politicians stop partying for a little bit and concern themselves more with the nation and the only real powers they do have.

Which leads me to conclude that despite all of my wishful thinking, it will remain thoughts and I will never see action taken in my lifetime but only watch as the sheeple of the nation continue to bow and kowtow to an illegal federal body. But hey, I can still dream can't I?

Pelosi Risks Losing Support by Funding Pet Projects

The very fact that they are redistributing wealth at all is disturbing enough. The fact that many of these so-called companies receiving the benefits have been found to be non-existent or subsidiaries of other companies whose names are kept hidden as they wallow in the funds they ultimately get from you and I makes me really worry about this.

Redistribution of wealth is key in both socialist and (Stalinist)communist forms of government. Throw in on top of that state-run (As in federally not locally by the states as it should be) educational systems which fail to teach our children any of the real basics of reading, writing and arithmetic and instead are used as indoctrination centers proclaiming the government as a savior ..... it really makes me wonder what it will take to wake up the people of our once great nation.

VOA News - US Officials Concerned About Lack of Political Progress in Iraq

Would it be out of line to suggest that maybe we could move our federal government over there? Not enough government over there and too much federal interference in the states here? We have donated troops, paid for their freedom with the blood of brave American forces doing a nasty job without any real thanks or appreciation from a lot of outspoken people back home.

How about it? Anyone else willing to sacrifice our political parties for a good cause?

Just a thought.

Democrats Feel Pressure on Spy Program - New York Times

Ummmmmmmmm yeah ok!

They openly declare war on the "corruption" of the right and infringements on the rights of "the little guy" whom they supposedly care for so much that they want us all to be totally and unquestionably dependent on big government to hold our hands and protect us from ourselves and they are INTIMIDATED?

I am not buying it! Quite frankly I have no choice but to believe that our (bought and paid for) political "parties" (And quite frankly there should be much less party and much more politic) are crooked on both sides of the two-party fence and the entire federal system needs to be completely dismantled and reestablished WITHIN the guidelines and restrictions of the Constitution, not held to be above that constitution.

Rights? What rights?

Nothing to see here folks! Move along! We have it all on camera and even though nobody will ever see the video besides the very corrupt politicians you can rest assured that you do not need to know what happened or we would have told you what to think .... ummmm .... told you about it!

Go ahead, tell me again which side is going to "save and protect me" from me?

No thanks!

Hey political party-goers! GET TO WORK and quit worrying so much about the party!

Democrats court liberal bloggers - Yahoo! News

Interesting that the headline really does not match the story.

The topic of concern seems to be Edwards belief that after having driven prices up through a lifetime of frivolous lawsuits whose costs were passed on to the taxpayers and consumers, that he feels it wrong for the other party-goers to take money from lobbyists who own politicians on both sides of the fence.

It does not matter who is paying for the politicians as long as they can get owned (should that be pwned) by someone they all seem to be happy.

Oh the hypocrisy!!!

Whatever happened to the humanity?

Quit partying and get to work! Politics is not about a party! Find me ONE candidate who is wanting to dismantle and recreate the federal government with the limited powers it is supposed to have and I will show you an assassination waiting to happen by a bunch of career politicians who could never survive in our world!

The powers of the federal government are FEW AND WELL DEFINED! Any powers not specifically relegated to the federal government by the Constitution of the United States of America are relegated to the states.

WE THE PEOPLE! Not the federal party-politics destroying this once great Nation!

Quit partying politicians and try actually working for a change! It may be a harsh slap to reality but you may accidentally appreciate it when you get there!

Iran detains scores at satanic rock gig: media | International | Reuters

For anyone who wonders what the "New Freedom" is going to be like when we have radicals from ANY side of the aisle running things. I do not honestly know what would be worse. Currently we have politicians from the left and the right all being controlled and bought and sold like so many commodities by PACs, Special Interest Groups and Lobbyists. While that is certainly upsetting, would actually letting these morons run things on their own be any better? It seems that none of them can think any farther than the next "donation" or "perk"!

What is going to happen when all sense of modesty is gone and the radicals finally do take over? No matter which side you think is going to save you, this is the ultimate result no matter who you choose in the two sided political parties! Quit partying and get to work!

Great American

Am I the only one who remembers when the words "Great" and "American" went hand in hand? When did this phrase go from being an accepted truth to becoming an oxymoron?

Any of my regular readers will know I am not among the America hating crowd on the left, nor am I a member of the Nationalist movement on the right. I am simply someone who is saddened and disheartened by what my once Great and Proud Nation has become.

The reason I bring this up is that during one of many conversations with expatriates from around the world, we discussed Thomas Jefferson. He was a great man, despite his humanness and any subsequent flaws he may have had.

What struck me as odd was when I said "Great American:" it produced many raised eyebrows and looks of confusion. It was almost as if the concept of a great American was foreign to these people. No pun intended.

America has contributed a lot to the world. Even today, despite many claims to the contrary, America continues to be a caring and giving nation at its heart. America gives charitable contributions in amounts greater than any other nation on this earth. That is simply the truth and an irrefutable fact.

America ’s heart is not the problem. The problem seems to be with American leaders and their (questionable) goals as to what comprises a great America . Whether you are a part of the Socialist crowd on the left, the Nationalist crowd on the right or one of those hopelessly indecisive people sitting on the fence waiting to see which way it leans before you know which ground to stand, the leadership and the partisan bickering is the true heart of America’s problems.

A very common misconception is that America is a Democracy. America is not now, nor has it ever been a Democracy. America was founded as a Constitutional Republic , which was designed to have limited government interference and equally represented with the added benefits of a system of checks and balances from three separate and distinct branches of government. I will never get to my point if I start on about the government though.

America is a country “Of the people, by the people and for the people.” Until the people begin to rise above the government, (Note: I did not say rise AGAINST, but ABOVE) America will continue to be frowned upon by most of the world. The reason so many people around the world are struggling and fighting and some, even breaking the law, to get into the country that “the whole world hates” is actually very simple. America is the only place in the world where an individual can have such a say in how much success they enjoy.

No, not everybody is a Bill Gates or a John Travolta (I never thought I would say his name with respect after Welcome Back Kotter) who will reach a level of fame and fortune that allows them to buy pretty much anything they could ever want, but America does still reward individual effort. If a person is motivated and capable, they still have opportunities in the USA that are not available anywhere else in the world.

I am an American by birth, and I am an expatriate by choice. While I will always love the country I grew up in, and the one I served, I do not like where it is going. I would prefer not to see the Socialists or the Nationalists take over my great country. Until its people become less apathetic and more willing to become an active part of it once again though, it is destined to fall into the hands of those who can buy it and wrap it up.

America is not the problem; Americans are to blame though. We need to remember that it is a country “Of the People, by the People and for the People and take our country back. We do not need career politicians who can be bought, sold and traded like so many corporate assets by lobbyists and PACs.

It is time for some Great Americans to take up the cause and take our country back from the politicians who have brought us here. It is also time for the rest of Americans to wake up and realize apathy will never cure anything. If Americans would stop to think why people are still trying so desperately to get in, and remember the passion and the drive that went into building our great nation, maybe being a “Great American” would be common again, and our nation would not be in the position that it is in now.

“Great” and “American” should be synonymous, not an oxymoron that causes people to question the validity and perhaps sanity of the one who says it.

Congressional Democrats Hail Ethics Bill Approval - washingtonpost.com

Awwwww, I feel so much better now. The politicians say they are going to be honest now and I am so glad that they have all seen the errors of their ways and are going to be open and honest from now on!

Oh wait, they are politicians right?

Doesn't that mean they are always right about everything?

Doesn't it mean that they put aside their personal differences to enhance our great nation?

Doesn't merely being elected to office take one to the next spiritual and intellectual realm above and beyond us mere mortals?

Umm

Now I am confused?

Oh wait, I know what they are saying. Let me reach down and grab my ankles while they holler "Trust Me!" and tell me how it is not going to hurt at all. After all, they promise to be ethical now!

Awwww shucks. No aliens this time around. Still, it makes one wonder why NYPD has an Intelligence Department. Still, after all that has happened there I suppose I can see why it has the need so that part aside; who are they gathering intelligence from on the Queen Mary 2?

At least it was a state or city run intelligence program.

History Quiz (Funny)

This is a trick question but I hope it is one that will serve to demonstrate the reasoning behind my beliefs.

What is the purpose of the Constitution of the United States of America as defined by the founding fathers?

Is it?

A) A way to mock the English and force them to see the folly of not allowing the US to have its independence without any need for violence or bloodshed?

B) A document which should be considered as "breathing" and "living" and subject to interpretation from any and all government officials who know so much more than us commoners and the people who debated, created and wrote the Constitution?

C) A list of rights guaranteed to the people of the United States of America?

D) An instrument which should be disregarded by politicians of future generations so that they may progress towards a more formal and distinguished form of global government?

E) A worthless piece of paper for politicians and citizens alike to blow their noses on and wipe their Aaaaa ..... aaaaaaaaa ........ ACHOO! (Gesundheit ... to your health even)?

F) A carefully thought out and planned document written in such a manner that it effectively restrained the rights and in many instances actively impeded and prevented the federal government from being the center of control and allocated powers of control and regulations to state governments in order to prevent a federalization of power?

And the answer is ................... Did you get it wrong!

Most people are probably going to answer "C" which is in a very limited extent and with a little bit of twisting and interpretation, considered and commonly viewed to be correct ........ but it is NOT!

Looking at the state of political affairs in the playgrounds around the Beltway, many foreigners and even a good portion of Americans would be almost correct in answering "E" except that the question was what it was intended to be by the founding fathers.

Some of the more progressive people may very well believe that the answer is either "B" or "D" and given the current way of thinking, that would be reasonable to assume but still, the original question was in regards to what the founding fathers wrote about and what they proclaimed it to be.

The correct answer is actually "F" The Constitution was written specifically to limit any federal government. I have more bad news which is going to make other people mad before too long but sadly, facts will not change simply because someone does not accept them as or believe them to be facts.

"The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government."
-- Patrick Henry

... when all government...in little as in great things, shall be drawn to Washington as the centre of all power, it will render powerless the checks provided of one government on another and will become as venal and oppressive as the government from which we separated."

Sean Penn meets Chavez in Venezuela - Yahoo! News

Nothing like seeing a gathering of great minds. Perhaps soon we can open full negotiations and learn how to have a more open and honest society after we kill off everyone who is opposed to us and have complete and total state control over the nation.

Or is that already a reality in some places?

And if an American actor or actress was to go there and question the leader? Would they receive such warm welcomes? Would they dare to see the heart of the country rather than just those parts opened up to them by the very people running it?

All that free socialized medicine must be why those Cuban doctors head so quickly for Guatemala and the US if they ever get the chance huh? Naw, nothing wrong with Socialism, in fact we are well on our way to getting there ourselves. People here just believe they are doing it for the public good. But hey, as long as their intentions are good and their hearts are in the right place, nothing wrong with giving more power to people who already prove that they will abuse it with absolute disregard of the citizens right?

Thanks but no thanks

Isn't the separation of powers specifically designed to keep anyone from being above the law? So all they have to do now is make sure that all of the records of their chicanery and thievery are kept in their offices and they should not have to worry about anything so inconsequential as being held responsible for their actions or answering for their crimes? Oh wait. They are politicians ...... nevermind! I thought for a moment it still was "Of the people, by the people and for the people." How silly can I be.

Nothing to see here folks! Move along!

What's an Anomaly?

I define myself as an Anomaly simply because I can think of no more apt description. An anomaly is something which appears to be something which is known but in fact, is quite different from what is expected or what is traditionally held to be true. I say what I mean and mean what I say which seems to be very rare in the world today. I am poor yet I remain far to the right of conservative. Oddly enough, my ideology probably defines me best as a Federalist or a Classic Liberal (For those who are not familiar with this term, it does not make me a liberal or a conservative but rather one who is unencumbered by beliefs in ANY party line and feels that ANY AND ALL government intervention should be and MUST be kept to a minimum. This is especially true when referring to a federal government which would not even have been legal according to the founding fathers) I am a hillbilly, which in all honesty, should itself allow me to bear the designation of being a minority. I am fairly intelligent and when those two factors are combined, my status among humans should be seriously considered as an endangered species. I am a proud American yet an expatriate due to the government both left and right and I am saddened and shamed by both parties. Who ever said politics was about parties? Maybe that is a major portion of the problem? Yet I digress. Suffice it to say that I am indeed very abrupt and some would even consider me offensive. One thing I am not however, is dull. I hope that I can get people here and that between us, we can actually generate actual conversations and assist those who are unwilling or incapable of learning how to once again, as the proud Americans they should be, thinking on their own! I am tired of seeing the nation I grew up to love being dumbed down and indoctrinated by anyone ... much less by the very people they tend to support. Will you help me in opening people's minds? Please!

Look BOTH ways before you cross the street!

I remember when I was a child, I was told that it was dangerous to cross the street. Still, there were occasions when I found I had to move on even if I did have to make a few crossings. Still, my Mother, being relatively sound mentally (With the exception of having to deal with a child like me perhaps) was wise and offered me sage advice. She told me to look both ways before I crossed the street. It seemed important at the time and looking back, it seems reasonable that most adults would accept it as nothing more than common sense. Yet sadly, in the world today, common sense seems to be lacking. If politics were a street, people would only be looking in one direction before they crossed. There seems no reason for people on one side or the other to look to the side they believe will save them, wrongfully believing that the only real danger comes from the other direction. The truth of the matter remains that it does not matter what direction a political vehicle is traveling, whether to the left or to the right, it will still hurt anybody who is hit by it.
I say this because too many people seem to believe that government in one form or another will save them. I will be adding more quotes here soon from some people who are much more eloquent and capable than I am at expressing the truth. To start my rambling against both sides of the political playground (Difficult to take politicians seriously anymore) I will quote Ronald Reagan for my first one.

"Big government is not the solution. Big government is the PROBLEM!"

Thus, my first rant upon my return here.

B**T KICKIN'

Well, I got my butt kicked pretty hard by the third (At the time the second worst but soon to be knocked down a notch) and the first worst storms in recorded local history. I lost my home, my rice field and a good deal more including ........ ohhhhhhh ...... everything I owned hehehehe. Still, enough crying and whining. I got back on my feet with the help of a couple of expatriate friends, one from Germany and one from Switzerland. I doubt seriously that I would be doing as well as I am now without their help. Anyhow, I have a lot of work to catch up on and a good deal of time without any work to generate any income so I have to catch up on that as well. I will be blogging here when I can but unfortunately, there are so many things irritating me with the world today, if I posted everything that I wanted, I would spend all my time here and not get any work done.

Welcome back!

Thanks
